Saginaw Chippewa Tribe shares over $2.2M in gaming revenue

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan shared nearly $2.3 million in gaming revenues with the local community.

Under its Class III gaming compact, the tribe shares 2 percent of net win with local governments twice a year. This round marked the first time that revenues have increased since 2005.

“This is a strong indication that something good is happening in mid-Michigan,” spokesperson Frank Cloutier told Central Michigan Life.

“Maybe we’re finally turning a corner,” added Vice Mayor Kathleen Ling, the paper reported. “The tribe has played a big role. Marching shoulder to shoulder has taken us through a difficult time.”
