Union effort at Mohegan Tribe's casino appears to have stalled

An effort to organize table game dealers at the casino owned by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut appears to have stalled.

The United Auto Workers wants to represent 1,637 dealers at Mohegan Sun. But it's been five months since the effort began and there's been no call for an election.

“I doubt there’s anything going on at Mohegan,” Roger Gros, an analyst who publishes the Global Gaming Business Magazine, told The Norwich Bulletin.

The UAW, meanwhile, continues to negotiate with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. Dealers there have been without a contract for nearly a year.
