Developers ask Muscogee Nation to revive disputed casino bid

The developers behind a disputed casino want the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma to take over the project.

The Kialegee Tribal Town announced plans for the Red Clay Casino on an allotment near Tulsa. A federal judge blocked the project but the case is being appealed to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The Red Clay Group says the Muscogee Nation could see $15 million to $25 million a year if it takes over the project. The idea could go before the tribe's National Council as early as next week.

"You have to recognize these are businessmen and businessmen take chances," Council Speaker Sam Alexander told The Tulsa World. "They're simply trying to salvage a project."
