United Auburn Indian Community also sues to stop new casino

The United Auburn Indian Community filed a lawsuit aimed at stopping the Enterprise Rancheria from opening an off-reservation casino.

The Auburn Community says the new development will draw revenues from the Thunder Valley Casino. The proposed gaming site is less than 25 miles from the Auburn Reservation.

"The proposed casino development will have a substantial, negative financial impact on the UAIC, resulting in significant socio-economic and cultural impacts on the UAIC," the complaint states. "The new casino will impact the UAIC’s revenues from the Thunder Valley Casino, which the UAIC operates. The proposed casino development will impact gaming revenues and food and beverage revenues at the nearby Thunder Valley Casino."

The Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians, also known as the Colusa Indian Community, is also suing to block the Enterprise casino.
