Suits against Enterprise Rancheria casino moved to California

Two lawsuits challenging federal approval of the Enterprise Rancheria off-reservation casino have been transferred to California.

The United Auburn Indian Community and a group of individuals filed separate lawsuits in the federal district court in Washington, D.C. Both were consolidated and moved to the federal court in the Eastern District of California.

The Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians, also known as the Colusa Indian Community, already filed suit in the Eastern District to block the casino. All three lawsuits have now been assigned to the same judge.

The lawsuits aim to prevent the Bureau of Indian Affairs from placing 40 acres in trust for the Enterprise Rancheria casino.
