Twenty-Nine Palms Band reportedly starting work on casino

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in California plans to build a new casino, The Desert Trail reports.

The tribe will release an environmental impact statement next Monday and will hold a public meeting next month, an official in the city of Twenty-Nine Palms said. Plans reportedly call for a 30,000 square-foot facility on the reservation.

The tribe currently operates the Spotlight 29 Casino on a different part of its land base in Coachella.
