Eastern Cherokees look at a new location for Class II facility

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is looking at a new location for a Class II facility.

The tribe would pay $1.9 million to acquire land owned by a tribal member. Plans calls for a temporary facility, with a permanent casino and hotel expected in 18 months.

The tribe's gaming enterprise is holding public meetings to solicit input on the project.
