County in California to distribute nearly $737K in casino funds

The Santa Barbara County Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee in California will be distributing $736,752.40 in casino funds this year.

The money will go to communities affected by Indian gaming. The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians operates a casino in the county.

Applicants will include the city of Solvang, whose leaders are seeking about $97,000 for a traffic study and to help fund a community resource officer.
