Tribal casinos account for 43 percent of the entire U.S. gaming industry, Business Insider reports.

Based on data from a new report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, tribal gaming brought in $27 billion in 2012. That rivals the $37 billion taken in at commercial facilities, which account for 47 percent of the U.S. gaming industry.

The Nevada gaming industry was treated separately from commercial gaming in the report. Nevada accounted for 10 of the U.S. gaming market.
