Chicken Ranch Rancheria eyes more improvements at casino

The Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians in California recently remodeled its casino and could be making more improvements soon.

About a year ago, the tribe expanded the size of the Chicken Ranch Casino and Bingo and added a restaurant and events space. The tribe is now seeking to build a new road to the facility in anticipation of further improvements.

“In that Chicken Ranch Rancheria is looking at additional improvements to the existing facility that could generate additional traffic, timing is of the essence, and the tribe could proceed with construction as soon as Caltrans approval could be obtained,” Chairman Lloyd Mathiesen said in a letter to the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors, The Sonora Union Democrat reported.

The county board will meet tomorrow to consider whether to support the project, the paper said.
