Navajo Nation opens doors to first gaming facility in Arizona

The grand opening takes place on Friday but eager visitors can already check out the new Navajo Nation facility in Arizona.

The $175 million Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort is the tribe's first in the state. The 267,000-square-foot facility features over 1,000 slot machines, 30 table games, a 90-room hotel and a conference center.

"It brings jobs that we don't have in the past, it brings revenue, it brings recognition to the Navajo Nation and Navajo people," President Ben Shelly told the Associated Press.

The facility currently employs 500 people, most of whom are Navajo. The tribe will be hiring another 300 people in the coming months.
