The Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona awaits another ruling in a lawsuit that challenges its proposed off-reservation casino. The state of Arizona, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Gila River Indian Community claim the Tohono O'odham Nation agreed not to pursue a casino in the metro Phoenix area even though such language isn't explicit in the Class III gaming compact. A decision is likely to lead to yet another trip to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which has issued two rulings on other matters in the case.
