Mashantucket Tribe finalizes deal to restructure gaming debt

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut has finalized a deal to restructure its gaming debt.

After months of negotiations, the tribe reached agreements with a sufficient percentage of debt holders, according to a press release. The deal should bring the tribe's debt to $1.7 billion, down from $2.2 billion, The New London Day reported.

The tribe incurred the debt through the operation and expansion of the Foxwoods Resort Casino.
