The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts has spent $303,015 on lobbying in the first six months of the year, Boston Magazine reports. The spending was the most of any gaming interest, according to the magazine. A development group associated with Wynn Resorts came in second, with $221,087 in expenditures. Overall, a little over $1 million was spent on gaming lobbying in the first six months. The tribe has been lobbying state lawmakers, regulators and officials on its casino in southeastern Massachusetts. A land-into-trust application is pending with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The tribe's Class III gaming compact has yet to be ratified by the Legislature. Get the Story:
