Opposition group still trying to stop Graton Rancheria casino

An opposition group is still trying to stop the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria in California from opening a casino.

The Stop the Casino 101 Coalition sued Gov. Jerry Brown (D) for signing a Class III gaming compact with the tribe. The lawsuit claims the tribe's trust land was not properly removed from state jurisdiction.

A state judge dismissed the lawsuit in August. The group is appealing and has asked the city of Petaluma to join the case but no decision was announced, The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat reported.

The Graton Resort and Casino is set to open on November 5.
