Man arrested for leaving son alone at United Auburn casino

Authorities in California arrested a 42-year-old man after he allegedly left his son alone at the casino owned by the United Auburn Indian Community.

Don V. Vo was gambling at the Thunder Valley Casino early Tuesday morning when his 5-year-old son was wandering around in the facility. Authorities say the boy had been left in a car for nearly three hours.

"This is a very unfortunate situation and there is no accounting for the irrationality of someone who clearly should not be a parent," the tribe's spokesperson said in a statement to News10. "Nevertheless, we are confident that the surveillance footage will be critical in the prosecution."

Vo faces a felony count of child endangerment.
