The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is spending $38 million on renovations at its casino.

The tribe is spending $23 million to update hotel rooms at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. Another $15 million project involves a complete makeover of the food-and-beverage and retail areas.

Work on both projects began in April, The New London Day reported. The renovations are expected to be complete by May 2014.

The tribe is also building a $115 million outlet mall at the casino.
