Indian gaming on agenda for Northwest Gaming Law Summit

The 11th annual Northwest Gaming Law Summit kicks off today in Seattle, Washington.

Indian gaming is high on the agenda at the summit. Off-reservation gaming, Internet gaming, land-into-trust and Michigan v. Bay Mills Indian Community, a case that just went before the U.S. Supreme Court, are some of the hot topics.

"Just as Indian gaming has grown exponentially over the last decade, so has the summit,” said conference co-chair Gabe Galanda of the Galanda Broadman firm. “We are proud that we have become the most authoritative gaming law educational seminar in the country.”

Speakers this year include Jonodev Chaudhuri (Muscogee), the acting chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission, and Chris Stearns (Navajo) of the Washington State Gambling Commission.
