San Diego County is planning to sue the California Department of Transportation for work related to the Jamul Indian Village casino. The tribe and partner Penn National Gaming started construction on the $360 million Hollywood Casino Jamul. The county claims the facility will increase traffic and harm the environment. “The giant gaming complex might generate profits for the tribe and its developer, but at the expense of the community’s quality of life," Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Dianne Jacob said in a statement, East County Magazine reported. "The tribe needs to follow the law and delay construction until an adequate environmental review of the traffic impacts has been completed.” Residents in the county also plan to sue Caltrans.
