Connecticut tribes report decline in slot machine revenue

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes saw declines in slot machine revenue for the month of December 2013.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation saw $37.6 million in revenue at Foxwoods Resort Casino. That represented a decline of nearly 15 percent from December 2012.

The Mohegan Tribe fared a little better at Mohegan Sun. Slot machine revenue was $45.9 million, a decline of about 8 percent from December 2012.

Both tribes share 25 percent of slot machine revenue with the state under their Class III gaming compacts. Due to the declines, they shared $296 million last year, down from $430 million in 2007, prior to the national economic recession.
