Seneca Nation seeing opposition to $150M casino proposal

The Seneca Nation of New York is seeing local opposition to its plan for a $150 million casino.

The tribe wants to build a 65,000 square-foot casino in Monroe County. The Niagara County Legislature and the Genesee County Legislature oppose the idea out of fear it will harm a gaming facility that's owned by a group of local governments.

The tribe operates three casinos and signed an agreement last year with Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to protect its regional exclusivity in exchange for a share of gaming revenues.
