Editorial: Navajo Nation must grow economy beyond gaming

The largest tribe in U.S. is making an historic economic turn around to become apart of the global community and business.

Other tribes can take part of this opportunity by partnering with the Navajo Nation and it’s allies for more growth and opportunity. We can only move a nation forward by uniting together, not dividing our voices through political process.

This is just not for Navajos, but many communities throughout New Mexico and Arizona. This has the capacity to bring more tourism, create more jobs, and generate more revenue for both state’s.

Although building more casinos is a good source of extra revenue, it can only do so much for economic development.

Tribes need to also recognize small business development and entrepreneurship by allowing small businesses and entrepreneurs to build at home on the reservation.
