An economic consultant has been hired to help review the Menominee Nation off-reservation casino in Wisconsin.

Nathan Associates will be paid up to $140,000 to examine economic issues surrounding the $800 million casino in Kenosha. The firm's principal economist is Alan Meister, who puts together the annual Indian Gaming Industry Report.

The firm was brought on board by a law firm that Gov. Scott Walker (R) hired to study the casino. He originally planned to make a decision last fall but extended his review of the project.
