Maine House approves bills to help tribes with casino projects

The Maine House approved three bills to help tribes with gaming projects.

HP1091 authorizes the Passamaquoddy Tribe (Indian Township and Pleasant Point) to open a casino. HP925 authorizes the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians to do the same.

HP188 allows the Penobscot Nation and the Aroostook Band of Micmacs to update their beano facilities with electronic versions of the game.

The bills await action in the Senate.
