The Catawba Nation is opening a bingo hall in South Carolina with the backer of its proposed casino in North Carolina.

The tribe and partner Sky Boat are opening a 45,000 square-foot bingo hall in Rock Hill. The facility could be open as early as May, Chief Bill Harris said, The Charlotte Business Journal reported.

Sky Boat is also helping the tribe with a $600 million casino in North Carolina. A land-into-trust application for a 16-acre site in Cleveland County has been sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The Catawba Indian Tribe of South Carolina Land Claims Settlement Act includes Cleveland County in the tribe's service area.
