The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has delayed the timeline for two commercial casino licenses, a move that affects three tribes.

The commission originally planned to award the license for the eastern part of the state early this year but a decision likely won't be made until this fall. The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is bidding on the license with the $1.3 billion Mohegan Sun Massachusetts.

In southeastern Massachusetts, the commission is delaying the process while the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe waits for federal approval of its $500 million First Light Resort and Casino.

The timeline could be delayed further in order to allow more applicants for the region. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is proposing a $750 million casino but entered the process late in the game.
