Connecticut tribes see another decline in slot machine revenue

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes reported declines in slot machine revenues for the month of March 2014.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation saw $44.59 million in slot revenue at Foxwoods Resort Casino. That represented a 10 percent drop from March 2013.

“The numbers are a sign of the times,” Foxwoods President and CEO Scott Butera said in a press release. “We are in the midst of an ultra-competitive market place. We will continue to move forward with the plan that we have in place to solidify Foxwoods as an industry leader with world-class amenities and unrivaled customer service.”

The Mohegan Tribe didn't do so well at the Mohegan Sun either. Slot revenues were $51.89 million, a decline of 12 percent from March 2013.
