Authorities in Oklahoma are investigating the theft of $120,000 from the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce.

Records show the money was spent at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino over the course of a year, The Tahlequah Daily Press reported. The facility is owned by the Cherokee Nation but the tribe is not connected to the ongoing case.

The chamber's tourism director has been placed on administrative leave and the executive director resigned earlier this month after nearly a decade on the job, the Press reported.
