Chumash Tribe plans hotel tower with $160M casino expansion

The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians in California plans to spend $160 million on a casino expansion project.

The tribe will add a 12-story hotel with 215 rooms to the Chumash Casino Resort, bringing the total number of rooms to 315. The gaming floor will see another 60-to-70 thousand square-feet.

"It's what our guests want", Chairman Vincent Armenta told KEYT-TV.

The tribe plans to break ground later this year, KEYT said.
