The Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma started construction on a $365 million casino expansion project earlier this month.

The tribe is building a 27-story hotel with 483 rooms at the River Spirit Casino in Tulsa. The tribe is also adding a new gaming area, entertainment venue, convention center, spa, pool, theater and restaurants in partnership with Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville brand.

"When phase two is completed the Muscogee Creek Nation will have invested $600 million in riverfront development here," Pat Crofts, the chief executive officer of Creek Nation Casinos, told News on 6.

Construction is expected to take 24 months.
