Eastern Shoshone Tribe announces $25M expansion for casino

The Eastern Shoshone Tribe of Wyoming announced a $25 million expansion of its casino.

The tribe is adding a 65-room hotel to the Shoshone Rose Casino near Lander. Plans call for a new gaming floor with more than 500 slot machines and table games, The Casper Star-Tribune reported.

“The Eastern Shoshone Tribe always had the intention of expanding the Shoshone Rose Casino,” Chairman Darwin St. Clair Jr. said in a press release quoted by the paper. “To expand our competitiveness and further economic development and employment opportunities for tribal members and the surrounding communities, we announce this next stage in the growth of our casino.”

The expansion is slated to open in spring of 2015.
