The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Montana are warning establishments on the reservation not to engage in illegal gambling.

The tribe regulates Class I and Class II gaming on the Flathead Reservation. But due to the lack of a Class III gaming compact with the state, those types of games remain illegal.

Establishments that offer sports boards, video poker, keno and similar games “run the risk of incurring penalties that jeopardize their liquor licenses," according to the tribe, The Missoulian reported.

The tribe's last Class III gaming compact expired in 2006 after the tribe and the state were unable to reach a deal, according to the Montana Department of Justice.
