The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians in Oregon expects to open a new Class II facility in late spring.

The tribe broke ground on the $5 million, 15,000 square-foot Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay in August 2014. The facility will feature 250 electronic Class II games and will employ about 80 people.

"This is forever,” Phil Brubaker, the CEO of Blue Earth Services & Technology, a tribal-owned company, told KCBY. “When the tribes build something they want to build and own it forever. So they're committed long term to the future economic development and redevelopment of the Coos Bay Area."

The new casino will be less than 3 miles from the Mill Casino, a Class III facility owned by the Coquille Tribe.
