A top gaming executive for the Bois Forte Band of Minnesota resigned amid allegations of credit card abuse.

The allegations against Gary Gotchnik, a "primary management official" at Fortune Bay Resort Casino, have been referred to federal authorities, the tribal council said in a statement. The activities did not impact operations at the facility, according to the tribe.

"The council emphasized that the integrity of gaming at Fortune Bay was not compromised and at no time was there danger of unsuitable, unfair, or illegal activities in the conduct of gaming," the statement read.

Gotchnik worked for the tribe for several years, The Timberjay reported.
