The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians will contribute $9.5 million for highway improvement projects near its casino in southern California.

The tribe debuted a $160 million expansion of the Harrah’s Resort Southern California in April 2014. The project generated additional traffic that will be addressed by the highway work.

“Our families have to drive on these roads too,” Chairman Bo Mazzetti told The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The paper said San Diego County will receive the bulk of the money -- $8.7 million. The remainder will go to the San Diego County Association of Governments.
