The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community of Minnesota announced plans for a new hotel and a new convention center at its casino.

The Mystic Lake Casino Hotel will see a nine-story hotel with 180 rooms. The facility already boasts 586 rooms.

The hotel will come with a 70,000-square-foot convention center that features two ballrooms and several meeting rooms. Together, the expansion will make the casino the fourth-largest hotel and conference center in the Twin Cities area, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

“We are always working to identify new opportunities that will enhance Mystic Lake Casino Hotel as a full-service resort. Adding this first-class hotel tower and convention space will meet the growing demand and help set the tone for our 25th anniversary in 2017,” Edward Stevenson, the president/CEO of the SMSC Gaming Enterprise, said in a press release.

Construction will begin in April 2016. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
