A poll released by the Florida Chamber of Commerce shows support for a new Class III gaming compact with the Seminole Tribe.

Most people weren't aware of the specifics of the compact. But when prompted with information about the tribe's plans to expand its casinos and create more jobs, 75 percent of respondents said the Florida Legislature should approve the agreement.

“The Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Compact presents Florida with the most reasonable path toward controlled gaming operations that also provide significant economic stability to Florida," Mark Wilson, the president of the Florida Chamber, said in a press release.

The compact runs for another 20 years and promises the tribe regional exclusivity for blackjack, roulette and craps. In exchange, the tribe has promised to share an estimated $3.1 billion with the state.

Lawmakers will be reviewing the deal at their upcoming session that starts next week.
