Hard Rock International, the multi-national corporation owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, is expanding in the Dominican Republic.

The new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will be located in downtown Santo Domingo, the nation's capital. The facility will feature a 23,000 square-foot casino, 33,000 square-feet of meeting space, a 400-room hotel, a nightclub and a pool.

"The Dominican Republic is the region's most visited country and continues to be the top performing destination in the Caribbean. In fact, the country received 19% of the record number of 26.3 million visitors to the Caribbean region in 2014," Nelson Parker, Hard Rock's vice president of casino development, said in a press release. "The decision to bring a full service hotel and the brand's second Caribbean casino to the Dominican Republic is a testament to the country's remarkable strength in tourism."

The facility is expected to open in late 2017. Hard Rock also operates the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in the Punta Cana region of the Dominican Republic.
