Pascua Yaqui Tribe updates casino and works toward an expansion

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona is upgrading its flagship casino.

The Casino del Sol Resort already saw updates to nearly all of its slot machines, The Arizona Daily Star reported. The gazebo bar will be replaced with an open bar and more seating and other restaurants are being upgraded, the paper said.

A road widening project was just completed and the casino now has its own traffic light. The facility is now officially located on Casino Del Sol Drive.

Further down the line, CEO Kim Van Amburg envisions a second hotel tower. She also hopes to bring more events to the outdoor concert venue and the golf course, the paper reported.

Van Amburg has served as CEO for two years, the paper said.
