A former casino employee pleaded guilty on Tuesday to stealing from the Winnebago Tribe.

Mark Hannan, 20, was a cage cashier at the Native Star Casino. He admitted he stole between $11,000 and $15,000 from the Class II facility that's located on the Nebraska portion of the reservation.

According to the plea agreement, Hannan "created false jackpots" and took the proceeds. He was seen on surveillance footage "literally putting the money into his pockets," the document states.

The thefts occurred over a rather short period of time -- November 2015 to February 2016, according to the plea. He admitted his crime when confronted by casino personnel and again when interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the agreement reads.

Hannan was indicted in April and initially entered a not guilty plea in May. He is due to be sentenced on October 31, according to a schedule agreed by his attorneys and federal prosecutors.
