Eastern Shawnee Tribe celebrates opening of $34 million casino expansion project

The Eastern Shawnee Tribe debuted a $34 million casino expansion project last week.

The tribe added an new tower to the Indigo Sky Casino in Wyandotte, Oklahoma. The structure features 127 hotel rooms, bring the total number of rooms at the facility to 247. There's also a grand ballroom, an events center and other amenities.

“I look at these buildings behind me and I look at this courtyard and it is beyond my imagination," Chief Glenna Wallace said at the grand opening on Friday, The Grove Sun reported. "It is something that I never as a child or young adult could have fathomed."

Indigo Sky opened in 2012. The tribe also operates the Bordertown Casino and Arena and the Outpost Casino.
