Chehalis Tribe working with local authorities on fatal shooting outside casino

A Washington man died after being involved in a shooting outside of the casino owned by the Chehalis Tribe.

The 55-year-old man was shot by a deputy from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel in Rochester on Tuesday evening.

"The Casino and Tribe are focused on the safety of the guests, casino employees and the community. Tribal Police, casino security and the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department are working together in the investigation," a post on Lucky Eagle's Facebook page read.

The man died after being flown to an area hospital, according to the sheriff's office.
