Seminole Tribe reports investigation into deaths of two people in Florida

Two people -- a father and his daughter -- died at a casino owned by the Seminole Tribe, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Andrew Fogel, 56, and Rebecca Fogel, 22, were found dead at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood on March 26, the paper said.

“Based on evidence collected as part of an ongoing investigation and pending toxicology test results, preliminary findings point to a murder-suicide,” spokesperson Gary Bitner told the paper.

According to a social media post shared by a legal advocacy group, Andrew Fogel's widow said he took his own life because of concerns about "lifetime alimony" payments. An obituary said he was being laid to rest on April 10.

No details were immediately available about services for Rebecca Fogel. Photos shared by a synagogue in Michigan, where the family has practiced their faith, indicate she lived with special needs.

"The world has lost a pure soul, her purity and sincerity will be sorely missed," the synagogue said in a post on social media.

The family has requested donations be made in Rebecca's memory to The Friendship Circle, an organization that provides services of families of children with special needs, or to another charity.
