Oneida Nation closes high school for the week

The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin closed its high school for the week after incidents suggested student behavior was getting out of control.

The Oneida High School was closed on Monday so teachers can receive more training. The elementary school is being closed starting today.

The school board acted after reviewing a videotape of a recent talent show at the high school. A student performed what was described as a profanity-laden song.

School officials are also concerned about graffiti in school buildings and other inappropriate behavior. They hope to avoid violent situations that have affected other schools in the area.

The high school, which has 94 students, will reopen on Monday with a series of ceremonies.
