Confederated Siletz Tribes re-elect three to council

Members of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Oregon re-elected three council members on Saturday.

Alfred "Bud" Lane III, Lillie E. Butler and Delores A. Pigsley each won more than 400 votes, the highest ever in a council election. Turnout was also the highest in tribal history, said Pigsley. Twelve candidates ran for the three slots.

Pigsley will serve as chair, Lane will serve as vice chair and Butler serves as secretary.
