EPA goes after dumps on Torres Martinez land

The Environmental Protection Agency is taking action against illegal dumpsites on the Torres Martinez Reservation in southern California.

With the cooperation of the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Tribe and the state the EPA has closed three of the largest dumps on the reservation. One was called Mount San Diego because it was so large.

Another 10 of 20 known dumps have been shut down and cleaned up. The EPA is taking civil action to close other illegal sites.
