Hollis Earl Roberts, a former chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, was released from federal prison on Friday after serving 11 years for sexual assault.
Roberts was indicted in 1995 for abusing three female tribal employees. He was convicted in 1997 of two counts of abusive sexual contact and one count of aggravated sexual abuse.
At the time, Roberts was serving as chief of the tribe. He left office after he was convicted.
Roberts will have to register with the state as a sex offender.
