Alabama-Coushatta Tribe settles Abramoff suit

The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas has settled a lawsuit involving convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

The tribe sued Abramoff and several of his associates. The tribe says it was duped into donating $50,000 to an Abramoff charity that was instead used for a lavish golf trip to Scotland.

The tribe settled the suit with Greenberg Traurig, Abramoff's former law firm. The firm wasn't named as a defendant but a lawyer for the tribe said the settlement resolved the case for all parties.

Chairwoman JoAnne Battise said the tribe hoped to restore its gaming rights.
