Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation swap approved

Voters in the town of Ledyard, Connecticut, overwhelmingly approved a land swap with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

The vote on the measure was 880 to 329. Now the town and the tribe can move forward with the exchange.

The tribe will give a 102-acre former dairy farm to the town in return for the 77-acre Indiantown Park. Both sides say the deal will benefit the community.
