Muckleshoot Tribe in talks with NBA team owner

The Muckleshoot Tribe is "intrigued" about the idea of keeping the Seattle Supersonics in Washington, a spokesperson said.

The tribe owns 118 acres in Auburn where a potential basketball arena for the team could be located. The land is not in trust but an application has been submitted to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Sonics owner Clay Bennett has met with tribal officials to talk about the idea. No decisions have been made but the idea has fueled speculation about the team's future and the tribe's role.
